So Heritage Ranch has fallen through. The best they were able to do for us was $600/month, WHETHER OR NOT we ride... Thanks, Barb, for handling those negotiations!

So I wanted to open the discussion up a bit to see if we've got some creative thinking out there. Thoughts? (Please use ReplyAll, so we can all keep up with the conversation...)

Some suggestions already:
A) Trailer-pooling down to Oak Hills twice a month
B) Muddling along with the weather as long as possible
C) Making a decision to stop for winter, and plan to start again in spring, so that A becomes more feasible
D) Go to Kathy Cappell's indoor (which is quite small, about 20m X 20m)
E) Individually work with Kathryn MacLeod through the winter, as weather permits, and also A.

Let's have a conversation about it, since I don't want to make any kind of unilateral decision about something that so deeply affects everyone!

Hi Everyone,

Trisha is gone to New Mexico next week for a big show---go Trisha! I forgot this was happening, and am envious that she's going to play ponies AND eat green chile for a whole week. Sigh. ; )

Our next lessons, then, will be the week of the 19th. I'd like to do our 'dry run' Saturday on the 24th, since that's our earliest opportunity, and it looks like winter is actually here to stay already!

So the idea here is to throw some times out there, and see how we can best organize Saturdays. Let me know if you have a recurring conflict with your possible time (kids in soccer practice, etc). As a first attempt, I mostly tried to keep everyone at their regular time.

Michelle, you are new! See if this is going to work for you.

Trisha, is 10 too early to start on a Saturday? You probably won't hit traffic, I'm guessing... but this puts you home at a more 'normal' hour---you'll get most of the way home before dark for most of the winter...

Ok. I think I've got it! John and I are out of town this week, Joanne is looking at houses (hooray Joanne!), Colleen had to move to the morning, Karen is out of town, but Barb can take two lessons. Phew! Unfortunately, John and I being slackers means that Kathy has to be left out this week---sorry Kathy! Sorry it took so long, but there were lots of changes coming in even this evening.

Marcelle stepped up first to offer to have them at her place, so let's have them there. Marcelle, can you 'reply all' to this message to give everyone directions?

Here's what I have for a schedule. I think I've kept track of all the information I had about who's around---it's a busy travel time. I am leaving on the big bus tour tomorrow morning early, so won't be around. Coordinate with Trisha if you can't make your time.

The Sarah Martin clinic next week has been canceled, so Trisha WILL be able to make it up here after all. Let me know as soon as you can if you are wanting a lesson next week. I will be leaving town on Monday, so want to set up the schedule before then if I possibly can. Also, Karen's place is unavailable next week, so if someone would like to volunteer to host, that'd be great!

Also, an FYI: Horseplay will no longer be allowing trailer-in rides. Only boarders can lesson there in the future (even the arena rental thing isn't going to be happening any more---just too many people trying to use the same venue! Which is good!). Vaughn's going to give us a few weeks to play with the schedule, and see how to work that out, but in the winter, the group will need a new place to ride.

We have a diagnosis! Trisha has bronchitis. While on the one hand this sucks, on the other hand, she's on new stronger antibiotics, and should be actually, really, truly well soon!
